Donating to the San Antonio Astronomical Association

The San Antonio Astronomical Association (SAAA) is a non-profit volunteer organization founded in 1974 and dedicated to promoting the enjoyment and education of astronomy and related subjects to over 150 member-families and the general public in the greater metropolitan area of San Antonio, Texas, USA.

The SAAA is organized exclusively for educational purposes and is designated by the IRS as an educational association entitled to exemption from federal income tax under the provision of section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code and exempt from excise taxes under chapter 42. As such, donors may deduct contributions to the SAAA from federal income taxes as provided in section 170 of the Code. Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers, or gifts to the SAAA or for its use are deductible for federal estate and gift tax purposes if they meet the applicable provisions of Code sections 2055, 2106, and 2522.
